Trainings - Settings Submodule
In this article, we’ll cover the “Settings” submodule within the Trainings module, detailing what can be configured there.
Introduction
If you go to the left-hand side menu and select “Settings” under Trainings, you'll land on the training settings screen.
Key Identifiers
On this screen, you'll find three lists, each corresponding to Categories, Tags, and Plans.
What are Categories for?
Categories serve as identifiers to group “Courses.” It’s important to define at least one if you want to use the module, as they are mandatory when creating courses.
Creating Categories
In the category list, you’ll see the “Add Category” button. Clicking it opens the category creation form, which includes the following fields:
- Name (Required)
Category name
Field type: Alphanumeric - Description (Optional)
Category description
Field type: Alphanumeric
Actions
As in most lists, categories are shown in rows, each with available actions:
- Edit (Purple pencil) – Displays the editing form to update the name or description as needed.
- Enable/Disable (Green/Red toggle) – Toggling this will move the category to the “Inactive” section (if red) or to the “Active” section (if green).
What are Tags for?
In the “Tags” section, you'll find their list. Tags are completely optional and are used when configuring courses, allowing for further identification and grouping when needed.
Creating Tags
In the tag list (upper right corner), you'll find the “Add Tag” button. Clicking it opens a form with the following field:
- Name (Required)
Tag name
Field type: Alphanumeric
Actions
Just like Categories, Tags have the same available actions: the Purple pencil for editing and the toggle switch for enabling or disabling the tag.
What are Plans for?
The last list you’ll find is for Plans. While Categories group Courses, Plans are used to group Editions.
Creating Plans
To create a plan, click the “Add Plan” button. This will display a form with the fields required to define the plan:
- Name (Required)
Plan name
Field type: Alphanumeric - Description (Optional)
Plan description
Field type: Alphanumeric
Actions
You can perform the same actions on Plans as with Categories and Tags: use the Purple pencil to edit and the toggle switch to move the plan between active and inactive.
