This article provides a step-by-step guide to setting up Assets within Terrand.
Introduction
To configure Assets, you must first access the Assets screen. To do this, you must log in and go to the left column of the screen. In the vertical menu, search for "Settings" (Nut icon) and select "Assets" from the pop-up menu.
Asset Configuration
Asset List
Once in the Assets screen, you will see a list of all configured assets on the left. They are divided into "Active" and "Disabled" assets. You can search (using the search bar) and filter them. The data displayed for each asset will be "Code", "Asset Type", and "Name". You can also perform actions on the listed assets.
Actions
- View (Blue Eye) - Allows you to access the asset's details. Within this window, we see everything we configured, as well as the processes that were created and associated with it.
- Edit (purple pencil) - Allows you to access the form displayed when creating the asset again, but this time to edit the entered information. The only difference is that the asset type and the location where it resides cannot be modified, and this is where we can assign external emails to the asset, meaning that they are not associated with any user within the business.
- Activate or Disable (green/red checkbox) - Moves the asset to the "Disabled" section, removing it from view for use in configurations.
- Delete (red checkbox) - Deletes the asset.
Asset Structure
On the right side of the screen, in a drop-down menu, you can view and configure the "Asset Structure". Conceptually speaking, this will be the classification, in a cascading format, that will serve as a template for later producing and configuring the assets themselves. Pressing the "+" icon indicates that you have configured or created an "Asset Type."
Creating an Asset Type
This creation consists of a form where you enter the name, which would be the "label" under which these assets are managed. Then, you can select the type of site where they can be found, or if it's an "Asset Subtype," you can select a parent asset type. Finally, you can add custom fields (using the "Add Field" button), which are Alphanumeric, Date, Options, Paragraph, and Location, in case the standard fields requested by the tool aren't sufficient.
Actions
Like assets, asset types contain actions, and these are as follows:
- Edit (purple pencil) - Allows you to access the asset type configuration form and edit previously selected items. This includes the exception of the parent asset.
- Activate or Deactivate (green/red checkbox) - Since they cannot be deleted, they can be deactivated by removing their ability to appear in configurations.
- Import New/Edit - We invite you to visit the following article to learn more about this action.
Creating New Assets
After selecting the "+ New Asset" button, which appears above the list, you will be redirected to the creation form. Within it, you will need to complete the following fields:
